The one where the girls ate alligator

Another amazing vacation in the books! Last year when we went to South Dakota for family vacation, we each put 2 states in a hat that we wanted to visit and then drew out to see where we were going the next year. We picked Georgia. I spent the last year planning as it was my state that we drew. I'm so thankful for an amazing client that gave me such great ideas!

So we left Saturday, June 22 from Minnesota airport to head to Savannah, Georgia. We left bright and early and only had a few tears while leaving Pua! Piper was quite exhausted! The flight there was interesting to say the least. Chris got upgraded...what a butthead. So he left the girls in the dust. Piper slept the whole flight, Taytum watched movies and me....well my tv froze and there was a kid who was not having it on the flight in front of me. So while Chris enjoyed his free drink, Piper enjoyed her nap, and Taytum enjoyed her movies....I watched the kid throw every snack, kick the seat in front of him or hit his screen because he did not want to watch the movie. I wanted to help but the parents were arguing so I just ate all my skittles and counted down the minutes. Chris owed me a glass of wine haha.

When we arrived in Savannah, we picked up the car and drove to our hotel. We stayed on the outskirts of Savannah. It was the perfect spot for all that we wanted to do. So, we checked in, let the girls swim for a little bit and then headed to our first dinner reservation.

We ate at The Pirate House. It first opened in 1753 as an inn for seafarers and became the meeting place for pirates and sailors from the Seven Seas. It was a super fun restaurant with great service. Believed to be haunted our waitress showed us a photo that was taken from a guest of a ghost in a window.

Besides the delicious biscuits, Piper had alfredo with shrimp, Taytum had breaded shrimp and Chris, and I shared the Santa Fe Pasta. Ours had alligator sausage in it and we convinced the girls to try it. They are always willing. They said it was good just a little spicy. Chris and I tried some specialty drinks. Chris ordered a drink called The Skull Crusher and it came in a pirate mug. I had a delicious blue drink.

We then took a stroll down the river and went to The Savannah Candy Kitchen. Oh, my word! Any candy you could think of and more! A little over whelming. I told the girls they could pick 3 things and was extremely hard. The candy apple that Piper chose with all 4 of us eating it, took 4 days to finish.

We walked through a few more stores, took some pictures of sites and back to the hotel. The girls had some of their treats before bed and then it was time to get some rest for the next day.

The first day was a success!! So excited to share more of our adventures!

When we got back, we were all sick of eating out and Taytum wanted a home cooked momma meal. So those that wanted my air fryer pork chop recipes I will gladly share the yumminess!

Cover each pork chop with olive oil. In a pie pan mix together

1 cup shredded parm (or more if you'd like)

2 teaspoons paprika

2 teaspoons garlic powder

2 teaspoons sea salt

2 teaspoons dried parsley

1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Cover each pork chop in this mixture. Place in air fryer at 425 degrees until the internal temp is minimum 145 degrees. I flip them after about 10-15 mins.

Be sure to pop back on to hear more stories of Georgia adventures and some more yummy recipes!!!

And tomorrow, BE THE ONE WHO IS KIND!
