The One With All The Bears, OH MY!

This morning we got up bright and early, again. It really isn't early for me. Yes, I get up early every day but we also are in Mountain Time so we gained an hour. So now I get up even earlier and can get everyone else up too because they think they got to sleep in. The girls made special Father's Day cards for Chris and then Taytum made everyone a pancake breakfast. Soon after we were off to Bear Country. Oh my word! You should have heard the girls on the whole ride. We are lucky we locked the doors. Those 2 would have jumped out to pet everything and wanted to keep them all. Just kidding they wouldn't have jumped out.....well I am not quite sure to be honest.

First driving through you are in the area with the elk. These things are HUGE!! Many males and females and they just walk right in front of you with no cares.

Next were the white wolves. WOW! These things are gorgeous. We watched this one on the rock for a while, listened to it howl and then it decided to walk up to the vehicle behind us to smell their tires. A little while later it was walking down the road right at us. It was crazy.

Then we saw big horn sheep. Not going to lie their coats did not look good. I'm guessing they were shedding the winter coat. Still very cute and lots of little ones.

As we were rounding the corner into the grey wolf area, one was napping in the middle of the road. He was not moving and had absolutely no care. So we had to drive around him. It was quite funny. Taytum thought it was hilarious too when the dark grey one decided to poo on the road.

Then it was into the girls favorite part! THE BEARS!! There were so many. As we were entering their area, much like the grey wolf, it was napping in the middle of the road. Leg in the air! Just a snoozing away. Taytum had my phone to take pictures, Piper had Chris' and I had the camera. Clearly we were all set the capture all angles. The girls also got a health lesson as 2 bears were making babies (*head slap*). Nature at it's finest.

As we entered the last drive thru area, Chris was a little disappointed at there were no mule deer out. He really wanted to see one. But the girls got to see the bison and even a little baby one.

They have an area that you can walk thru and see smaller animals. So we saw a skunk, raccoon, prairie dog, baby cubs, and porcupine. All in all, this place was an absolute success. The girls could not get enough.

When we went to Michigan 2 years ago, we took the girls to a mystery spot. They thought it was so amazing. So when we told them there is one is South Dakota too, we had to go. It was Father's Day, so they gave Chris a discount, which was super nice! And we scored with lots of dad jokes from our young tour guide haha. It always amazes me, no matter how many times we do mystery spots. It's just so crazy. My heart doesn't always love it but still super fun! The girls always love to volunteer too!

We came back to the house to let Pua out and rest for a bit. Then it was off to #FortHays for a chuckwagon dinner and show. We went early because they have a really cool rollercoaster where your feet dangle and you try to shoot at buffalo while riding. It was super hard, and I think my dad would be disappointed in my shot haha. Chris always beat us all, every ride. We all took turns riding with each other. The first ride I went with Piper because she was pretty nervous. The man was tightening our bar and explaining when my bar popped back up. It was super freaky and scared Piper. Only to find out one of the workers was behind me playing tricks. So, we told him he had to stand far away every time we got on the ride after that. Watching him constantly haha. I can't even tell you how many times we rode that rollercoaster.

Then we walked through the "town". They have a gift shop, theater, rope making, plate making, penny press, jail etc. The owner was there and Chris could have talked to him all day. He was full of so much history. He made a very strong rope in front of us made out of toilet paper. Yes you read that right....TOILET PAPER. He pressed a penny for each of us. And told us how some of his buildings were on the set of Dances with Wolves with Kevin Costner. It was very interesting.

We rode the rollercoaster one more time and then it was off to dinner and a show. The dinner was either chicken or brisket, baked potato, baked beans (served right side up so that there were no toots), apple sauce, biscuit and spice cake. It was a ton of food but very good! The show was a band that sang a wide variety of songs. They went from country to rock. Every era! I listen to a lot of 90's country so Taytum was excited that she knew all those songs. She knew more than she thought she would of the other songs though. One of the band members came out dressed like Willy Nelson. He looked just like him! They ended the show with a patriotic song and honored our military members! It was a great night!

Came back home to play with Pua and off to bed!

Tomorrow, be THE ONE WHO IS KIND!!
